After the Vietnamese government moved away from collective farming in the late 1990’s, 亚搏开户网址 partnered with a large cashew farmers' collective. By investing in technical support and finance, 亚搏开户网址 helped the collective to transition to organic farming and obtain organic certification, and since then, the partnership has evolved into a successful organic cashew project. Our agronomists continue to work with the organic farmers to improve the yield and quality of their crops and we maintain our technical support to the local processing facility to help guarantee quality, food safety and organic integrity.

After harvesting, our organic cashew nuts are hulled at a local processing facility. At this facility, the cashew nuts are hulled, cleaned and sealed for export. This organic cashew processing facility has state-of-the-art equipment and works in line with the highest quality and food safety standards. The facility hires mostly women, providing welcome employment opportunities for women in the region. The organic cashew processing facility is committed to provide fair conditions for their workers and the facility holds a SMETA certification, which helps guarantee decent employment conditions.

亚搏开户网址 has a team of agronomist, who frequently visit our organic cashew farmers in Vietnam. These field visits allow us to train our farmers and extension workers on organic production practices. In addition, our agronomists also monitor the existing production practices and traceability of the cashews, to help ensure that the organic control system is working accurately. Our quality staff also pays frequent visits to the cashew processing facility, to monitor the quality standards of the processing. Due to our local presence in Vietnam, we can continuously monitor the entire supply chain of our cashews.

Organic Cashew - A Versatile Ingredient

From our organic cashew project in Vietnam, we can offer a variety of cashew products for different applications. Besides our whole organic cashew, we also offer organic cashew pieces. The whole cashews and cashew pieces are available in different sizes and they are great for retail packing. The cashews and pieces are also an excellent ingredient in trail mixes, breakfast cereals and bars.

Additionally, we organic cashew butter and organic cashew flour. Our organic cashew butter is a delicious natural product and it can be used as a spread, but also for making dairy replacers like vegan milk or vegan cheese. Our organic cashew flour is a great gluten-free alternative and can be used for a variety of bakery products.

Organic Pineapple – Better for the Environment

In addition to organic cashew nuts, 亚搏开户网址 also sources organic pineapple products from Southern Vietnam. Conventional (non-organic) pineapple cultivation usually relies on the intense application of synthetic pesticides which is often associated with soil and water contamination. Since our organic farmers are prohibitied from using synthetic inputs, the impact on the environment is reduced to a minimum. After harvest, the organic pineapples are processed locally into different products, such as organic pineapple slices IQF, organic pineapple rings or chunks (canned), organic pineapple juice, etc.

Our sourcing project is creating a positive impact on local farmers and workers in Vietnam. In addition to our organic certification, our cashew project possesses a social certification which helps to ensure the fair treatment of workers at the cashew processing facility. We are also supporting a health care program which provides health care insurance to over 120 farmers and their families. Looking forward, we aim to continue to have a positive impact on the lives of our farmers and continue to add new products to our portfolio, such as organic ginger, organic jackfruit and organic dragon fruit.
